"Our Landgut-History"

The Untere Mühle is thought to have been built around 1500, but the first documentary evidence is an earnings report from the years 1598 to 1600 that is dated 1605.  The mill was once held in fief from the local lord but has now been in private hands for five generations.

The historic mill building that now houses the woollen mill and the hotel is just one of the structures on the estate. The inn and the gift shop are located in the estate's other farm buildings, whose historic fabric has been carefully preserved. The estate enjoys an idyllic location beside the little Schmeie river, directly adjacent to the Danube Valley cycle path and a stone’s throw from Kapffelsen, a paradise for climbers.

You can stay overnight in our comfortable 4-star rooms and/or holiday apartments, which are also rated 4-star – or even, if you are feeling a little more adventurous, in the shepherd’s hut or construction trailer. The Fischinger Salon, our historic dining room in the main building, is where we serve breakfast and can also be hired by smaller groups as a separate space for private functions.
